Commissioned!

The electric company came out to my house on Thursday and commissioned my solar panels. In the past 48 hours, I have generated 86 kWh. Daryl and I are comparing our panels’ production and giving each other “the business” when one of us springs ahead in the race. He gets more output in the morning and I get more in the evening. On my first full day, I beat him by just about 1 kWh. This morning is a bit cloudy, so he called off the competition for now. Spoil sport!

Now bring on those bills and let me see how much I’m saving.

  1. Richard says:

Do you have access to the same data and reports Daryl has with his system?

  2. Daryl says:

She does not have the same graphing as I do; she just has energy (kWh) generated on half-hour increments. No real-time monitoring of power.

It’s all you really need unless you are a geek…

It’s disappointing how much cloudier it’s been at my house than hers these past couple of days. I’m sure once the weather clears I will be generating more than her…

Maybe if you lived closer to her you would have the same weather. You know, like in the same city.

  4. Donna says:

Daryl just decided he wants to change the race to comparing lifetime output. (Hmmm, he’s 14 months ahead of me.)

  5. Richard says:

I wonder if Donna is getting more power because the transmission lines above her house are supercharging the photons?

  6. Daryl says:

I think she cheats by setting up electric lights to shine on her panels. Or she’s at home manually moving the meter forward.
