Leslie Kuest gave me her spin on the famous $395 cookie recipe. Her method calls for grinding the oatmeal in the blender, and using a large Hershey bar, coarsely chopped, instead of milk chocolate chips. I make a batch of cookie dough and store it in the refrigerator, and bake just a few cookies at a time.
1 C butter
1 C sugar
1 C brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
2 C flour
2 ½ C oatmeal, ground in blender
½ tsp salt
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
12 oz semi-sweet chocolate chips
12 oz milk chocolate chips, or a chocolate bar chopped
Cream butter and sugars until creamy. Add remaining ingredients. Drop by large spoonfuls on cookie sheet. Bake 8-10 minutes at 375°. Don’t over bake.
