My health conscious neighbor, Joy Shaunnesy, who lived behind us in Tucson when the kids were little, gave me this recipe. It’s a non-chocolate brownie with chocolate chips. Very good texture and flavor. Easier than cookies because it’s spread in a pan instead of dropped on a cookie sheet.
I admit, I don’t use the whole wheat flour or wheat germ, and it’s still delicious! 🙂
Cream together:
1 C butter
1 ½ C brown sugar
2 eggs
2 T milk
2 tsp vanilla
Add:
2 C whole wheat flour
1 tsp baking powder
¼ tsp baking soda
¼ C dry oatmeal
sprinkle of wheat germ
12 oz chocolate chips
Pour into greased 8×12” pan. Bake about 30 minutes at 350°.
