First Sick Day

Lauren was sick today for the first time since she came home. She had a fever, so I left work and picked up Nathan and brought him to my house while Carrie took Lauren to the hospital. They checked her over and did a blood workup. Thankfully it came back negative for infection, but she has a virus. Dr. Graham put her on 14 days of antibiotics and everyone is back home this evening.

Nathan amazes me every day with how smart he is. Today I took three 5 piece jig saw puzzles and dumped all the pieces together, and he sorted them all out and put each in its proper place in the proper puzzle. He even named the color of the frame each time he picked up a piece (i.e. this goes in the blue one, or this goes in the green one). The pieces are not color coded; he just figured out where they went! Now how smart is that?

So far he is not showing evidence of being color blind, but Brian started school before we knew he was. So with his color cones still developing, Nathan could turn that way, I suppose.

Our prayers are with Lauren and we hope she responds quickly, soon to be healthy again. Nathan is surely going to be a great role model for her! I bet he becomes the protective little brother.
